Worship & Music

Worship is when we gather for the praise of God with “extravagant welcome,” music, prayer, scripture reading, and preaching. We celebrate life’s joys and are strengthened by God to carry on amidst the challenges of life’s journey. We are inspired by the ministry and teachings of Jesus Christ to become bearers of peace and love to everyone. Through the love of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, we are renewed, restored, and sent out into the world “to do justice, love kindness, and to walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8).”

Music thrives at the Federated Church with joy, beauty, and inspiration. Indeed, music is integral to our worship. With organ, piano, choir, handbells, and occasional guest artists, music in worship combines the best of classical tradition along with more contemporary expressions such as spirituals, gospel, jazz, and folk. We love to sing using the hymns from our Chalice Hymnal, as well as other resources. Additionally, throughout the year we host concerts featuring musicians of a wide array of musical expressions.

Sunday worship is led by our Pastor Rev. Darren L. Morgan. All are welcome.
