New Year at the PreSchool
Happy New Year to All!!
On Friday, November 16th, the preschool had a different type of Thanksgiving Feast. Each family reached into a coffee can turkey and they pulled out a paper that stated: make your favorite vegetable, favorite potatoes, favorite stuffing, and favorite dessert, which they brought to the Feast to share with their friends. One family took on the task of making the turkey for at least 50 people. The pre-schoolers made cranberry bread and rolls for their families. Food is always a big hit but this year the preschoolers treated their families to a wonderful performance and they sang “Turkey & Stuffing, “I Am Thankful”, and Colorful Turkey feather songs. I was very proud of them; the “I AM Thankful” song was a new song to all of us. They started to learn it on Monday and by Friday they performed it!! Thank you to the Reeves Family and all my families for all their hard work in making this feast unforgettable.
I wanted to convey to all the hard working Outreach members from the Federated Church to know that your hard work has reached the Meeting House Preschool families. The Federated Church’s Outreach donates money to a program called the Lower Cape Emergency Child Care Fund that is administered through the Cape Cod Children’s Place. This fund temporarily assists families with the expense of childcare; many times families are in unexpected situations that call for assistance from the fund. So, thank you for your generous donations.
During the month of January, we will spend our time celebrating winter. The preschool children will explore the Arctic and the Antarctic regions. We will study the animals’ habitats in these areas of the world. The classroom will be transformed into a science laboratory. Equipped with microscopes, magnifying glasses, insects, magnets...Science experiments will be taking place as you read this newsletter. The children will hypothesizing: why does the ice melt? Why does salt make it melt quicker? Why does it snow and rain? I am positive the children will discover the answers to their many questions.
In addition, thanks again to the church community for all your support in making our preschool a success.
