An abundance of blessings
The crocuses and daffodils are pop-ping up and out, the “peepers” are peeping, all harbingers of spring and summer. Yet as I type this, the weather is raw, cloudy and wet. Typical Cape Cod Spring Day.
But despite the weather, I would rather concentrate on those signs of spring and summer, especially as they relate to The Federated Church. As in nature, there are indications of a renewed season being upon us. Easter will have come and gone by the time this is published, but as with our Lenten Services, I am sure it will be spiritually uplifting and fulfilling under the excellent guidance of Rev. Norris.
The 2017 officers and leaders of the church have been installed and are well underway to provide leadership and guidance for another successful year. The necessary and exciting task of re-visioning the budget is being undertaken by the Finance Committee, with very insightful and thought provoking comments of “Why the Church” provided by all segments of the congregation. The Fair Committee has met and will continue to meet to insure another successful Fair on August 2nd and 3rd. The Concert Committee has finalized the plans for the Second Annual Concert for Peace and Harmony on October 21st. And of course, like the crocuses, daffodils and “peepers” our snowbirds are beginning to appear, which is always a sure sign of a new spring and summer season. So let Mother Nature do her thing in delaying warmer weather, we here at The Federated Church have a lot to be thankful for and a lot to look forward to with warm hearts and souls.
