Trustees Meeting February 2017
At our first meeting for the new year, the Board re-elected Carl Ericson as Chair and Mary Lee Mantz as Vice-Chair. The Board also welcomed its newest member, Jimmy Dishner, who will be a wonderful addition with all his experience in serving the church in a variety of roles over the years.
Eric Ehnstrom presented the Treasurers Report covering the first six weeks of 2017. The numbers for pledges were under budget year to date. Some of this can be attributed to seasonality. Pledge fulfillment will be critical in 2017 since the final revision of the budget draws down nearly 10% of the Endowment. Eric plans to review the longer trends in pledges. Eric also shared some of his goals as he takes on the role of church Treasurer and there was discussion as to how he can best assist the Trustees in their work, including the information included in his monthly reports to the Board. The Board also praised Ernie Rogers and the work he did as Treasurer and the wonderful working relationship the Board and its sub-committees had with him.
Eric also explained that discussions were starting as part of the Re-visioning Process to explore the "WHY" of the church and that these conversations will help guide future budgets.
Mary Lee and Jean Souther introduced the plans for a presentation on Home Solar that has been put together by the Care 4 Creation Team. Trinity Solar will host the lunch in May and members of the congregation will comment on their experience with solar.
