What is on YOUR mind as our country approaches a significant presidential election?
Whatever our political allegiances, we are all concerned citizens. And many of us struggle to understand how our Christian faith can inform our decisions. We are called to be God's faithful witnesses in the world; and sometimes it is hard to see clearly the paths we are called to follow. This study series is designed to help us all think through the issues that trouble the world and the country, and prayerfully consider what we as individuals and as Church can and should do in our efforts to help bring about God's kingdom here on earth.
There will be four sessions, after worship on September 18 and October 2, 16, and 30.
The Adult Education is leading the series, and has some suggestions for reading materials:
The (UN) Common Good; how the Gospel brings Hope to a Divided World by Jim Wallis;
On God's Side: What Religion Forgets and Politics Hasn't Learned about the Common Good by Jim Wallis;
Jesus for President, by Shane Claiborne and Chris Haw.
