We, the members of the Federated Church of Orleans rejoice in proclaiming that we are an open and affirming church. All people - including but not limited to age, race, culture, socio-economic position, gender or gender espression, sexual identity, family structure, faith perspective, gifts, and abilities - are welcome and blessed and invited to receive the healing and transforming love of God.
We seek to follow Jesus who teaches us a commandment that we should love one another as God loves us (John 13:35). This love affirms that all people are children of God and are blessed and sacred in God's sight. We seek to embody this love by celebrating all people "no matter who you are or where you are on life's journey." We seek to embody this love by removing all barriers of discrimination, prejudice, and hatred. We seek to embody this love by mirroring God's heavenly realm where all people live with dignity and in peace.
Prayerfully and relying on God's grace, we seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to enlighten the eyes of our hearts (Eph 1:18) as we embark on this journey, proclaiming joyfully "All are welcome here!"
